Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste salt
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using store-bought dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes for easier handling.
  3. On a floured surface, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 6-8 inches long, then tie it into a knot. Place each knot on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Generously brush the garlic herb butter mixture over each knot, ensuring they’re well coated.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic knots, making sure to cover them evenly.
  7. Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Once done, remove the knots from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Then, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
