Heavenly Cream Puffs Recipe Easy and Delicious Guide
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 0.25 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 optional chocolate drizzle for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and unsalted butter. Heat over medium heat until the butter is fully melted.
- Stir in the all-purpose flour and salt all at once, mixing vigorously with a wooden spoon or spatula until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan (about 1-2 minutes).
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
- Once cooled slightly, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and glossy.
- Using a pastry bag or a spoon, scoop small mounds of dough (about 1-2 inches in size) onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each puff.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Avoid opening the oven door during baking as this can cause them to deflate.
- While the puffs are baking, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Once the cream puffs are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, slice the tops off each puff and gently fill with the whipped cream mixture. Replace the tops, or you can drizzle chocolate on top for an added treat.
