Garlic Bread Meatball Subs Savory and Satisfying Meal
Ingredients
- 12 oz frozen or homemade meatballs
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- to taste fresh basil leaves for garnish
- to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, warm the marinara sauce. Add the meatballs, cover, and cook until heated through, about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the garlic butter. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, ensuring not to cut all the way through. Spread a generous amount of garlic butter inside each roll.
- Place the opened rolls on a baking sheet and toast them in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Once the toast is ready, take them out of the oven. Spoon a few meatballs along with marinara sauce into each roll.
- Top each filled sub with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a generous handful of mozzarella cheese.
- Return the loaded subs to the oven and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
