Garbage Bread Recipe Delightfully Delicious Treat
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup cooked sausage, crumbled
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, diced
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced (any color)
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- to taste Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Layer the pepperoni slices, crumbled sausage, diced mushrooms, bell peppers, red onion, and black olives on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, and red pepper flakes (if using) evenly over the toppings.
- Starting from one long side of the dough, carefully roll it up into a log, sealing the edges as you go. Pinch the seams to ensure everything is enclosed.
- Place the rolled dough seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Use a sharp knife to make a few diagonal slashes on the top of the bread for ventilation.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Allow the bread to cool for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
