Flaky Ham and Cheese Croissant Casserole Delight
Ingredients
- 6 large buttery croissants, cut into halves
- 2 cups diced cooked ham
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Layer the bottom of the baking dish with the halved croissants, placing them cut-side up.
- Sprinkle the diced ham evenly over the croissants, followed by the shredded cheddar and Swiss cheeses.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissant, ham, and cheese. Gently press the croissants down with a spatula to soak them in the egg mixture.
- Optional: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the egg mixture and flavors, or bake immediately.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
💡 Chef's Notes
For best results, let the casserole sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking to enhance the flavors.
