Ingredients

  • 6 large buttery croissants, cut into halves
  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Layer the bottom of the baking dish with the halved croissants, placing them cut-side up.
  3. Sprinkle the diced ham evenly over the croissants, followed by the shredded cheddar and Swiss cheeses.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered croissant, ham, and cheese. Gently press the croissants down with a spatula to soak them in the egg mixture.
  6. Optional: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the egg mixture and flavors, or bake immediately.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

For best results, let the casserole sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking to enhance the flavors.
