Easy Strawberry Patch Float Delightful Summer Treat
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup strawberry soda or sparkling water
- 0 none Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the strawberries evenly, and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to macerate, allowing juices to develop.
- In a tall glass, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the bottom.
- Spoon some of the macerated strawberries over the ice cream. Be sure to include some of the juice for added flavor.
- Slowly pour in the strawberry soda or sparkling water, filling the glass until it's just above the ice cream layer. The fizz will create a fun float effect.
- Add another scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, then garnish with additional strawberry slices and a sprig of fresh mint, if desired.
- Serve immediately with a spoon or straw to enjoy the delicious layers!
