Creamy Vodka Pasta Flavorful and Easy Recipe Guide
Ingredients
- 400 g pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, and sauté for about 5 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir in the chili flakes and oregano. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Lower the heat and slowly add the heavy cream to the tomato sauce, stirring until the sauce is creamy and well combined. Allow to simmer gently for about 5 more minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil, mixing well to combine.
- Plate the creamy tomato basil pasta and sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese.
