Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta Flavorful and Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 10 oz linguine or fettuccine pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste salt and pepper
- for garnish fresh parsley, chopped
- for serving lemon wedges
Instructions
- In a large pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Lower the heat and add the cherry tomatoes, cooking until they begin to soften, around 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined, creating a creamy sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached. Mix well to coat the pasta and shrimp in the sauce.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
