Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 0.5 cup raisins (optional)
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar (for drizzle)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Open the cinnamon rolls and set aside the icing packets for later. Cut each roll into quarters and place them in the greased baking dish, spreading them out evenly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls, ensuring that they are all evenly soaked.
  5. Drizzle the maple syrup over the top and sprinkle with chopped pecans and raisins, if using.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is puffed up and golden brown.
  7. While the casserole is baking, prepare the drizzle by mixing the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if necessary.
  8. Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle the icing from the cinnamon rolls and then add the powdered sugar drizzle over the top.
  9. Serve warm, slicing it into squares, and enjoy the festive flavors!
