Cherry Cheesecake Egg Rolls Tasty Dessert Delight
Ingredients
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 10 pieces egg roll wrappers
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for coating)
- as needed oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface, with one corner pointing towards you. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture onto the wrapper, slightly above the center. Top with 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling.
- Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides snugly. Roll the wrapper away from you to encase the filling completely. Seal the edges with a little melted butter.
- Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the egg rolls in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the egg rolls and drain them on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. While the egg rolls are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture for an extra sweet touch.
