Ingredients

  • 4 pieces hot dog sausages
  • 1 large pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 2 pizza sauce
  • 1 2 diced bell peppers
  • 1 2 sliced black olives
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the hot dog sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to make a rectangle, approximately 12x16 inches. Transfer the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Slice the cooked hot dogs in half lengthwise and arrange them evenly on top of the cheese.
  7. Add the diced bell peppers and sliced black olives over the hot dogs.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  9. Carefully fold the edges of the pizza dough over the filling to create a sandwich effect, sealing the sides well to prevent any leakage.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  12. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve warm, sliced into triangles, with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
