Cheeseburgers Hand Pies Savory and Easy Delight
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
- to taste sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula as it cooks. Once browned, drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Once cooled, mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully combined.
- Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface and cut them into circles approximately 5 inches in diameter.
- Place a heaping tablespoon of the cheeseburger filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the crust over to create a pocket and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for added decoration.
- Brush the tops of the hand pies with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra crunch and flavor.
- Place the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
