Cauliflower Pizza Crust Healthy and Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower, florets only
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional toppings: marinara sauce, more cheese, vegetables, pepperoni, or herbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, pulse the cauliflower florets until they resemble fine rice or crumbs. This should yield about 2-3 cups of cauliflower rice.
- Transfer the cauliflower rice to a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth. Squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is crucial to achieving a crispy crust.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained cauliflower with egg, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a pizza crust on the prepared baking sheet, about ¼ inch thick. Make sure to create a slight rim around the edges to hold toppings.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and firm.
- Remove the crust from the oven and add your desired toppings. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes to melt the cheese and heat the toppings.
- Once cooked, let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
💡 Chef's Notes
