Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor you prefer)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk (or almond milk for a non-dairy option)
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 can cooking spray (for greasing the donut pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan thoroughly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  3. Transfer the donut batter into a large piping bag or a resealable plastic bag, and snip off the corner to make it easier to fill the donut pan.
  4. Carefully fill each donut mold to about 2/3 full with the batter. Avoid overfilling to ensure the donuts rise properly.
  5. Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Once baked, remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. While the donuts are cooling, place the powdered sugar (and cinnamon sugar if using) in a shallow bowl.
  8. Once the donuts are cool enough to handle, gently coat each donut in the powdered sugar, shaking off any excess.
