Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, cut into chunks
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 for dusting powdered sugar (optional)
  • 1 for garnish fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the croissant chunks evenly in the prepared baking dish. Scatter the mixed berries over the croissant pieces.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and berry layers in the baking dish. Press down gently with a fork to ensure the croissants soak up the custard mixture.
  5. Allow the mixture to rest for about 10-15 minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Optionally, dust the top with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh mint leaves for added freshness and color.
