Berry Croissant Bake Tasty and Easy Breakfast Dish
Ingredients
- 4 large croissants, cut into chunks
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 1 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 4 teaspoon salt
- 1 for dusting powdered sugar (optional)
- 1 for garnish fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Place the croissant chunks evenly in the prepared baking dish. Scatter the mixed berries over the croissant pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and berry layers in the baking dish. Press down gently with a fork to ensure the croissants soak up the custard mixture.
- Allow the mixture to rest for about 10-15 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
- Optionally, dust the top with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh mint leaves for added freshness and color.
