Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants Easy and Tasty Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 large croissants
- 8 slices ham (preferably honey or smoked)
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- to taste freshly cracked black pepper
- for garnish fresh herbs (like thyme or chives) (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice each croissant in half horizontally to create pockets for the filling.
- In a small bowl, mix the Dijon mustard and honey (if using) until combined. Spread this mixture evenly on the inside of each croissant half.
- Layer 2 slices of ham on the bottom half of each croissant, followed by 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
- Place the top half of the croissant over the filled bottom half.
- Arrange the filled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the croissants with melted butter for a golden finish.
- Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper on top for added flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
