Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Bites Simple and Tasty Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 0.5 cup teriyaki sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnishing)
- 2 green onions chopped (for garnishing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Stir well to mix.
- Add the bite-sized chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Once preheated, place the marinated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Cook the chicken bites for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping. They should be golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the chicken bites from the air fryer, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately while hot.
💡 Chef's Notes
For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken for up to 2 hours.
