Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon (skin-on preferred)
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • to taste sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Whisk until well mixed to create the marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Reserve the marinade for later use.
  5. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching for even cooking.
  6. Air fry the salmon for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. In a small saucepan, bring the reserved marinade to a boil and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.
  8. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and drizzle the thickened marinade over the top.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Marinate for longer for enhanced flavor.
