Air Fryer Apple Fritters Easy and Tasty Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (preferably Granny Smith)
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
- 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Then add the diced apples and gently fold to combine.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Using a medium cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the basket, leaving enough space between each fritter for air circulation.
- Air fry the fritters for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- While the fritters are cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.
- Once the fritters are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Drizzle with the lemon glaze while they are still warm.
